If you accidentally created an insurance claim before it was ready, you can cancel/delete the claim. This will send the service lines back to your Bill Insurance area.
Print & Mail
- Navigate to Filing > CMS-1500.
- Locate the claim, using filters if needed.
- Click the
icon.
- In the drop-down menu, select Delete CMS-1500.
This will delete the CMS-1500 and send the service lines on the claim back to your Bill Insurance area. This will allow you to make any changes and create a new claim.
Electronic
You have approximately 15 minutes from the time you create an electronic claim to cancel the submission. Once the claim has been sent out, you will no longer be able to cancel it.
- Navigate to Billing > Tools > Cancel Claim.
- Locate the claim you wish to cancel. Claims are displayed in descending order using the date the claim was created and list the Client Name, DOS, and Insurance Company.
- Click the
icon on the claim. The system will not ask for confirmation, so be sure that it is the correct claim you want to cancel.
This will delete the CMS-1500 and send the service lines on the claim back to your Bill Insurance area. This will allow you to make any changes and create a new claim.
