Several possible reasons for this error include...
- You entered an invalid modifier.
- You entered a modifier that is not valid for the CPT code you used on the claim.
- You did not use a modifier when you should have used a modifier.
For basic information about CPT codes and modifiers, please see: https://therabill.zendesk.com/entries/23062137-Diagnosis-codes-CPT-Procedure-codes-and-Modifiers
In Therabill, the CPT code and the modifier can be edited on the edit session form.
Editing the session from the error page
On the right of the error page, you will see the date(s) of service included on the claim that came back in error. You can click on those dates to open up the edit session form for that particular session. Once you have the edit session form open, at the bottom left, you will see the CPT codes, a modifier text box, the number of units, and the charge amount. Make any needed changes to the service code (CPT code) and / or the modifier and then click the Save & Done button at the bottom of the edit session form.
Now, back at the error page, simply click the Resubmit Electronically button at the top to resend those claims with the new information.

Don't know how to find the "error page".
Hi,
The page that had the link to this article is the error page. You can get to the error page from your dashboard. On the left of your dashboard, you will see a section labeled Electronic Submission Errors. You will then see the errors listed. Click the error to go to the error page.
You can also view an instructional video here: https://www.therabill.com/instructional/view_video.php?video_id=55
You can also find a link to that video from within the e-mail you received notifying you of the electronic claim error.
