Invalid Referring Physician NPI Format (Box 17B) - Fails Validation

The payer is rejecting this claim due to issues with the format of the NPI that you supplied for the referring physician on the claim.  Please double check the NPI that you have entered for this referring physician.

Editing the Referring Physician

The referring physician name and NPI can be edited in Therabill under Providers -> Referring Providers

1. Put your mouse over Providers in the top navigation bar of Therabill
2. In the drop down menu, click on Referring Providers
3. In your referring provider list, find the referring physician and click the edit icon
4. Remember to save after you have made your changes.
