If you have entered a session in Therabill as a recurring session, you can edit the session information for the entire recurrence or for a portion of the recurrence. This article will go over how to edit a recurring session. If you are wanting to know how to delete a recurring session, please see: Delete a Recurring Session.
Editing Recurring Sessions
Editing a recurring session starts by going to your calendar (this can only be done through your calendar). Click Schedule in the top navigation bar of Therabill. In your calendar, go to the date of service of the session that is a member of the recurrence. NOTE: If you are wanting to edit all sessions of the recurrence after a specific date, then go to the session that has the date of service on the date that you want to start the edit.
Click on the date of the session in your calendar to go in to day view. In day view, find the tile representing the session that you want to edit and click on that session tile. A session options dialog will open up. Click the edit icon in the options dialog. This will open up the edit session form.
Make your changes to the session and then click a Save button at the bottom of the form. If the session that you are editing is a member of a recurring session, then a dialog box will open (see image to the right) up asking you how you want to handle the edits with the recurrence. This form is made up of two sections: Apply these changes.. and Apply changes to... both of these are very important parameters when editing the recurrence.
Apply these changes...
You may have made multiple changes to the session. However, maybe you only want to apply one of those changes to the entire recurrence. This is the section that allows you to control this. For example, if you editing the time and the session class, but you only want to make the time change across the entire recurrence, then only put a check next to the Start time and End Time of session options under this section.
NOTE: For the session that you are actually editing, all changes will be made. This section only has to do with the other sessions in the recurrence.
Apply changes to...
Here you tell Therabill how to apply the changes to other sessions within the recurrence.
- This session only: Will apply the changes only to the session that you are currently editing. Other members of the recurrence will not be changed. NOTE: If you are going to choose this option, then you can ignore the section labeled Apply these changes...
- All sessions in recurrence: Will apply the changes (that you have checked under Apply these changes...) to all sessions in the recurrence.
- All future sessions in recurrence: Will apply the changes (that you have checked under Apply these changes...) to all sessions that have a date of service after the date of service of the session that you are currently editing.
Once you have made your selections, clickthe Apply Edits button at the bottom.
A note about editing service codes
An edit to a service code includes the service code, the modifier, the units, the line note, and the charge amount. This is all included in a service code change.
Limitations
At the time of this writing, deletion of service codes from a session cannot be applied across a recurrence.
Once I have added a recurring session, can I change the recurring pattern type?
Once you have added a recurring session, you cannot change the recurring pattern type (for example, if you added a recurrence on every Monday, you cannot edit the recurrence to every Tuesday). You would need to delete the tail end off of the recurring session at the date that you want to make the change in the recurrence and then add a new recurrence starting on that date.
