In order to receive Humana ERAs into Therabill through Availity, you must also receive your EFT directly from Humana. The Humana ERA enrollment will need to be completed online. You are able to get a free login to Availity for your own account to complete this enrollment process. To obtain, you must contact Availity directly and ensure you have access to Payer Spaces.
Let's Start Here:
- If you are receiving electronic payments, was this EFT agreement set up originally through CAQH? Login in to your CAQH portal to verify, and once there cancel so that you can move forward with the Add ERA Humana enrollment instructions.
- If you are receiving EFT payments due to signing up with Humana, move forward with the Change ERA Humana enrollment as an enrollment will already exist in the portal.
- Are you receiving Virtual Credit Card (VCC) payments? If so, you will need to contact Echo Health at 888-483-6212 to opt out. Once this has been completed, you can move forward with the Add ERA Humana enrollment instructions.
Please ensure you determine the above before moving forward.
Availity Enrollment: Tips
- Please DO NOT reassign any enrollments to your Availity account; if they are removed from WebPT’s account, we will not be able to access these ERAs and new enrollments may be required.
- If you have an Availity account, and also have the Payer Spaces option in your login but the ERA/EFT option is not available, you will need to contact Availity at 800-282-4548 to have your access modified.
- If you do not have an Availity login, please sign up for one. Please ensure the Payer Spaces option is added to your login. For any questions, please contact Availity at 800-282-4548.
- 2 Check/Payment Verifications are required by Humana for validation purposes.
Payer Spaces
- From your Availity dashboard, click on the Payer Spaces tab and select Humana.
- Click on the Applications tab, Choose ERA/EFT Enrollment. Note: The ERA/EFT box may not be in the exact position of the picture below.
- Select your organization/clinic as the Unverified Organization.
- If you have not been verified by Humana, you will go through a one-time verification process. Please have two recent Humana payments to enter for verification.
If you need assistance obtaining Humana EOBs, please go back to the Availity dashboard and follow these steps:
- Go to the Claims & Payments tab, click on Claim Status and Remittance Viewer.
- Select Remittance Inquiry (Humana).
- After verification, please review the Key Factors in order to choose the appropriate enrollment option: Add ERA or Change ERA.
Enrollment: Add/Change ERA/EFT
- To Start/Add or Change enrollment select an Organization ID & Tax ID. If the Tax ID is not linked to an Organization ID, you will have the option to Add ERA/EFT.
- You will be prompted to accept the terms and conditions, click inside of the I Accept bubble and click Next.
- Complete the Submitter and Contact information.
Change ERA
If current enrollment is not with WebPT and Change ERA is the right enrollment method, click on the three lines next to correct NPI and/or TIN under the Action column and choose Change ERA
- For Relationship with this provider organization choose and complete information
- Select Next
- On NPI Details tab, choose between NPI or TIN and complete
- Under ERA Details, choose delivery method as Clearinghouse and select WebPT and Submit
- On pop up tab for Are you Sure, select OK and Close
- After you click Submit, you receive a confirmation page with a Request ID. Please keep a copy of this for your records, the Request ID will be required for status check
Add ERA/EFT
If enrollment does not exist or under Action there is nothing to select, choose the Add ERA/EFT button
- The Financial Institution Name will auto-populate based on routing number
- Check box for I Accept and choose Next
- For Relationship with this provider organization choose and complete information
- Select Next
- On NPI Details tab, choose between NPI or TIN and complete
- Under ERA Details, choose delivery method as Clearinghouse and select WebPT and Submit
- On EFT Details
- Choose the Type of Account from the dropdown: Checking or Savings
- Enter the Financial Institution Routing Number
- Add Financial Account Number in both bottom boxes
- Click Submit when done.
- After you click Submit, you receive a confirmation page with a Request ID. Please keep a copy of this for your records, the Request ID will be required for status check
Existing Enrollment
If current enrollment exists, review to ensure it has not already been completed.
- If yes to either, do not move forward with any additional enrollments
- Under View Request Status & History chose the icon
- Review to see if current WebPT enrollment is in process or completed
- Please be sure to only update the enrollments pertaining to your NPI and/or TIN, if multiple are listed for your company.
How to Check Enrollment Status
Humana may contact you to verify enrollment via phone or letter. Please respond to their efforts to ensure the processing of your ERA enrollment. For any questions on enrollments, please contact Humana directly. Your may also check your status via the Availity Portal by doing the following:
- Sign into the Availity Web Portal.
- Select Payer Spaces, then Humana.
- From the Application tab, select the ERA/EFT Enrollment app.
- Search by tax ID, then search by the Request ID from the Confirmation page.
